Work consists of removing and replacing all support gravel layers, fine sand media and granular activated carbon (GAC) media in all six filters at the facility. In addition, the or other potential failure shall be replaced with new clay block. Also, the existing diffusion manifold existing clay block filter under drains shall be cleaned and inspected. Clay blocks that show signs of substantial cracking that serves the clay under drain shall be cleaned and the existing baffle plate installed at the entrance to the diffusion manifold shall be removed.
