Salem, MA – SESD Plant Water System Replacement

The project consisted of replacing the existing plant water pumping system with a fully upgraded configuration designed to improve reliability and performance. Work included the demolition and removal of the existing skid-mounted pumping system, process piping, valving, electrical components, control systems, and instrumentation. Temporary process piping was installed and later removed to maintain operations throughout construction. The new system installation featured five stand-alone plant water pumps complete with new process piping, valving, motors, and auxiliary systems. Additional improvements included the removal and replacement of the automatic backwash strainer and all associated piping and valving. The project also incorporated new variable frequency drives, updated electrical work, and a modernized control and instrumentation system, resulting in a fully renewed and enhanced plant water pumping operation.
