The Wareham WPCF project involves comprehensive upgrades to an existing 1.56 MGD Water Pollution Control Facility, originally built in 1972 and subsequently upgraded in 1979, 1989, and 2005. Key improvements include civil/site work for stormwater management, yard piping modifications, ductbank installation, and road reconstruction. The work also addresses concrete spall and crack repairs, with temporary facilities provided to maintain plant operations and ensure compliance with discharge permits during construction.
Major construction includes a new Dewatering Building Odor Control system, two Final Clarifiers, a Clarifier Sludge Pumping Station, and Scum Pump Station No. 1. Additional upgrades involve piping modifications in the Operations Building, renovations to the Headworks Building with demolition and replacement of key systems, and a new Alkalinity Building with fire protection. The project also includes demolition of the existing Soda Ash Silo, construction of a Vehicle Storage Building, and extensive electrical, instrumentation, HVAC, and plumbing work to support the facility’s enhancements.
